She’s an inspiring and engaging public speaker who loves to share her experiences.  Her audiences have included Congresswomen in the U.S. Capitol who acted upon her observations in Iraq during the war and activists in Poland, Mexico, the U.K., the Philippines and the West Bank.  In 2006, she ran for public office and addressed dozens of audiences every month during her three-year campaign.  She has appeared on more than 500 radio and TV public affairs shows, including PBS “News Hour with Jim Lehrer,” CBS “This Morning,” CNN “Financial News,” and CNN “Moneyline.”

Chapters in Kelly’s forthcoming book about her Middle East experiences are included in seven anthologies and have won 19 literary awards.  She writes a column for a Los Angeles weekly newspaper which was awarded “second place” by the Southern California Journalists Association in 2016.

She’s housesat fulltime since 2009 throughout the U.S., Mexico, Europe, Vietnam, China, Singapore, Japan, Malaysia, Senegal, Malawi and Mozambique.  She’s visited more than 65 countries, including pre- and post-U.S. invasion Iraq (from where she reported live to Los Angeles TV and radio news programs) and has co-led delegations in Syria and India.

The primary mission of Sithabile Child & Youth Care Center is to provide a full time care facility for children in distress through education, counseling, nurturing and a home where they belong to a family.

Our vision is to help children overcome the hurdles and the challenges they are given by life and become educated, skilled and contributing members of South African society and the world, and to empower other young people from extremely difficult circumstances.

Sithabile creates a safe haven for children who are survivors of abuse, exploitation and neglect.
